School Visit to plant Bluebells, Snowdrops, Crocuses and Daffodills At the end of November 08, all four year groups from the school visited the Nature Trail area to help plant many hundreds of bulbs within the Nature Trail area. Great fun was had by all, despite the cold and very soggy conditions. We’re looking forward to seeing a wonderful display of colour in the Spring time when the bulbs flower. Here are some pictures from the two days, which also made the Buckingham & Winslow Advertiser news
Nature Trail Competition The four different age groups from the school made a trip before the Easter holiday to see the progress of the sports field specifically the Nature Trail area. Two of the members of the Management Committee took the children on a tour pointing out the work that had been done to tidy the area, the hedge laying that had been done, tidying around the old pond and the digging of a new pond. And showed the children where the various different bird and bat boxes were located. The children were asked to present a piece of work having seen the Nature Trail and thought about what we might do to encourage more wildlife to live there and the sort of plants we might provide. Four winners were chosen by the Sports Field Committee from the four year groups and the winners were presented with a prize at a special assembly held on Friday 23rd May. The winners and their work are: Fleur Dixon – Reception
Jessica Blackburn – Year 1 & 2
Lucy Butterworth – Year 3 & 4
Carys Hylands – Year 5 & 6
